I-70 Zipper Lane to Alleviate Ski Traffic

On May 7th, the Colorado House has approved and sent to the governor a bill that could reduce weekend traffic jams on Interstate 70. This bill would allow the state to set up a "zipper" lane on weekends, using movable concrete barriers to temporarily add an extra eastbound lane.

Apartment Rents Increase Across West & South

Rents increased for the first time since 2008. The average asking rent rose to $943 from $932. This could be attributed to a tiny uptick in the rate of unemployment on the national level. 27.6% Increase in Homes Under Contract April 2010 Compared to April 2009

For the Denver area, the $8,000 tax credit seems to have helped spurn a 27.6% increase in properties under contract April 2010 compared to April 2009. There were 6,616 homes under contract last month. This is helping the market come back.
