I-70 Zipper Lane to Alleviate Ski Traffic

On May 7th, the Colorado House has approved and sent to the governor a bill that could reduce weekend traffic jams on Interstate 70. This bill would allow the state to set up a "zipper" lane on weekends, using movable concrete barriers to temporarily add an extra eastbound lane.

Apartment Rents Increase Across West & South

Rents increased for the first time since 2008. The average asking rent rose to $943 from $932. This could be attributed to a tiny uptick in the rate of unemployment on the national level. The vacancy rates for Colorado are starting to come down too. Feel free to let me know if you'd like to invest your money in rental properties.

27.6% Increase in Homes Under Contract April 2010 Compared to April 2009

For the Denver area, the $8,000 tax credit seems to have helped spurn a 27.6% increase in properties under contract April 2010 compared to April 2009. There were 6,616 homes under contract last month. This is helping the market come back.
